A STOCK and station agent is concerned with livestock, land used for farming, agricultural purposes and grazing, and selling the goods farmers and graziers need.
Qualifications and training: TAFE conducts a two-year, part-time stock and station practice course at several technical colleges. A full-time, live-in combined stock and station agents and auctioneers' course of nine weeks is also available through Hawkesbury Agricultural College.
Prospects: Dependent on the rural economy, but the longer-term outlook for wool and beef is optimistic.
